The long stretch of dunes at Ocean Beach is believed to be one of the best dune land systems in New Zealand.
Ocean Beach is a significnat landscape area with sites which are of natural and cultural value including archaelogical sites.
The Cape Kidnappers Wildlife Preserve will ensure the long term protection and management of these landscape areas. In addition, the provision of accessible reserve areas for the public are integral to the vision.
